Energy Savings Update Bryant has built the first two LEED certified schools in Arkansas.  One component of a LEED certified school is energy efficiency and guaranteed energy savings.  We have been tracking the energy consumption for over a year now on Bethel and Hurricane Creek.  An energy analysis is compete and shows that Bethel saved the district $52,591 dollars last year in energy cost and Hurricane Creek saved the district $31,963 in energy cost.  That is over $84,000 dollars in savings over a code-constructed building.  That money can go directly back to the schools to be spent on instruction.
