Whenever inclement weather makes it necessary to close our schools, announcements will be sent out via e-mail and through the media as early as we can so that faculty and staff, parents, students, and district patrons will be informed in time to change their usual daily schedule. The first notifications will be sent out to all district e-mail addresses and to the Notify Me distribution list, so those persons who are included in our e-mail notifications will be the first to learn about school closings. After this notification goes out, we will contact the media for our usual announcements on TV and radio.
As a reminder to those who are not currently enrolled in the Notify Me system, they can do so by going to the Bryant School District website at www.bryantschools.org and click on "Notify Me" at the top of the page.
While we will make every effort to send out school closing announcements prior to 6:00 a.m., sometimes the worst road conditions occur right before daybreak. Therefore, in situations where the "go/no-go" decision is not clearly defined, the announcement may not occur until later.
If you have any questions about our school closing procedure, please contact me.
Thanks,
Don McGohan
