  Scott Hart Appointed as
New Board Member

The Bryant School Board recently appointed Scott Hart to fill the upcoming board vacancy.  Jim Davis resigned effective December 31 due to moving out of the Bryant School District.  The board interviewed a total of four candidates and selected Mr. Hart from those candidates.  Mr. Hart will begin serving on the board January 1, 2009 and will serve until the September 2009 school election.

Mr. Hart is active in a variety of youth activities in the Bryant area.  He and his wife have a daughter who attends Salem Elementary School.  Mr. Hart serves as an active PTO member at Salem Elementary and his wife serves as Salem PTO President.

We welcome Mr. Hart to his new position on the Bryant School Board.

The Bryant School District
is Going Green

In an effort to be better stewards of our environment, the Bryant School District is going green!  Here are some of the things we are doing to help:

LEED Certified, Bethel Middle School saved the district $44,548 in energy costs during the 2007 calendar year.  This savings is a considerable sum when compared to the energy usage of traditional school facilities.  Click here to read more about this facility and its award winning design.

The district green team is committed to educating the staff and students about sustainable initiatives and dedicated to implementing recycling and efficient energy practices in the schools.

To the left, you can go on a virtual tour of Hurricane Creek Elementary.  This green school tour was created by HCES students in Mrs. Childress' Art class.
